Introduction, Mission, and Objectives

Integrating the resources of Taiwan's preclinical contract research organizations to build a comprehensive non-clinical drug development service model

Introduction

To implement the resolutions of the Executive Yuan's Bio Taiwan Committee (BTC), the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) is leveraging AI to accelerate the development of new drugs and preclinical applications in Taiwan, promote cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary collaboration in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry, and establish a comprehensive non-clinical drug development process service model. This initiative aims to integrate the preclinical trial capabilities of Taiwan's academia, research institutions, and industry, and actively promote the Artificial Intelligence-Driven Drug Development Program (115-118). Among the key projects of this four-year program is the establishment of the "Taiwan Contract Research One-Stop Service, T.CROSS."

After more than six months of preparation, the "Taiwan Contract Research One-Stop Service, T.CROSS" is officially established in January 2026. Its purpose is to strengthen the integration of Taiwan's preclinical research and AI-Driven Drug Development Projects, and to build a cross-domain collaborative industry service ecosystem.

Mission and Objectives

Integrate Taiwan's preclinical contract research organizations (CROs) resources and service chains to promote collaborative applications of preclinical trials and AI models for new drug research and development.

Assist in promoting and reviewing preclinical validation and translational research projects within the AI-driven drug development projects.

Establish a sustainable operation mechanism and international cooperation strategy to enhance the international competitiveness of Taiwan's preclinical research.
